About Us
42-57 is more than coordinates — it’s a feeling. Where land meets water, where family and friends gather, where life slows down and joy begins. Whether it’s beaches and boating, hiking and camping, or simply relaxing, 42-57 transports us to Door County and everything we love about it.
Wearing 42-57 is a quiet connection — when you see it, you know. Two paths, one door. However you arrive, the destination is the same: a place that feels like home.
Our Story
The 42-57 design was created in 2012 to celebrate the shared memories of Door County. Founded by Mary Beth and Brian McDonald, with daughters Maggie, Catie, and Grace helping keep the brand fresh, 42-57 carries on a family legacy rooted in this special place.
Brian’s family has called Door County home since the 1850s, with generations spending summers fishing, boating, working, and welcoming visitors. Today, the McDonalds continue that tradition — weaving the spirit of Door County into apparel and merchandise that connects all who know its meaning.
"From my very first visit in 1991, I was hooked — even with ice still on the lake. 42-57 captures that same feeling: the escape from city life into joy, peace, and family."
— Mary Beth, co-founder
